In 100% Sahar Jamili challenges our impulse to categorise and assign value to everything in our immediate surroundings, including our fellow human beings and ourselves.Through an abundance of things; sculptures, drawings, photographs, clothes, memories, family heirlooms and found objects, Jamili draws on their lived experience in order to unsettle the value systems imposed by society, such as gender, sexuality, class, ethnicity, or cultural background.

With 100% Jamili challenges the fixed, the linear, the safe, and the assumption that we live in a world characterised by order and progression. Instead they embrace the potential of the complex, the nuanced, the messy, the uncategorised, the circular, the scary, the painful and the unknown.

Sahar Jamili is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice takes its starting point in personal experiences and explores how they are shaped through social, cultural, and structural conditions. They are interested in how the personal is always embedded within broader social contexts, and how questions of belonging and identity are shaped by the norms and power structures that surround us.
They primarily work with installation, bringing together different media, materials, and found objects that carry both personal and collective narratives. It is in the tension between objects that their practice comes alive, as materials, histories, and meanings collide, overlap, and create new narratives. Their visual language is raw, monstrous, and punk. They deliberately work with the imperfect, the contradictory, and that which does not immediately make sense, using aesthetic friction to question established hierarchies of value and aesthetics.

Mette Kjærgaard Præst is an independent curator, producer and educator, whose practice is informed by an on-going interest in artistic strategies that reimagine or dislocate social and political systems. She is co-founder of Thing Mountain Art Club, which through exhibitions, publications and workshops creates spaces for art, play and learning. She is also co-founder of ZERO TIME AND SPACE, a collective curatorial platform, which in collaboration with Det Lilla Rum in Copenhagen will open an exhibition space rooted in community building and care for the independent art scene in 2027.
